Refresco workers chose a union in the June election.
We voted to form a union so that we can negotiate for better wages, benefits, and schedules.
But the company has done everything it can to interfere with our rights.
Refresco hired expensive union busters to fight us before the election, and after our election they have spent more money on lawyers to delay our union certification from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
Refresco’s lawyers filed objections to the election with the NLRB. The company wants us to believe it lost because the voting center opened five minutes late on June 25th. They also objected because the company’s observer interpreted for a few minutes during the delay. The company’s objections are ridiculous and are only intended to delay negotiating with the workers. Why else would the company file an objection to its own observer’s behavior, if not to obstruct our progress?
The labor board scheduled a hearing over the company’s objections for the end of July, but now the company claims that they are not available on that date. The hearing got delayed until the second week of August.
Refresco, we have had enough.
Stop using lawyers to fight workers and play games. Get to the table with us to negotiate fair wages and other improvements to our jobs. No more stalling – respect our union!
